Ang Babaeng Hinugot Sa Aking Tadyang, the new soap opera of Marian Rivera and Ding Dong Dantes, premieres tonight, one week ahead from the original airing date which is supposed to be on February 9. Deemed one of the hottest and controversial love teams today, the two cannot contain their excitement to promote their soap.

Marian Rivera is especially excited and nervous about her role as Proserfina, an aggressive, sensual, and very mysterious woman. She says this is her most daring role so far, so people should watch out for her performance in this soap. Ang Babaeng Hinugot Sa Aking Tadyang is originally a comic book series from Carlo J. Caparas, and had a film adaptation back in the 80s before becoming the soap from Marian and Ding Dong.

This is the third time that the two are going to be together in a major soap opera, the first two being Marimar and Dyesebel. We are so used to seeing the two being romantic and clingy on and off camera, but they swear that this time it’s going to be more than what we are waiting for.

Marian Rivera and Ding Dong Dantes were pressured this past week for the promotion of their soap because the airing date has been moved. They have to fly abroad on the 5th and have to stay until the 7th because the two are guests in Ogie and Regine’s concert.

I think that there wouldn’t be anything new or attention-worthy about the soap, unless it is full of intelligent dialogue and great cinematography, much like the earlier parts of Marimar. I’m not sure if Joyce Bernal is still the director of this sopa, but if she is, maybe Ang Babaeng Hinugot Sa Aking Tadyang is worth a peek every night at 8:30.
